Totem Cyber team did an analytics of the FB/google likes/followers of various politicians /contestants in India to verify the genuine authenticity of such data .It was seen that despite having very high number of followers and likes most candidates had very poor record as regards the google play installs of their apps ....this is because Google play/apple IOs app install requires not just an email id but also checks for separate IMEI numbers .This basically shows that to create email ids and create a hyped sense of followers /likes is pretty easy but it is not possible to fake app downloads as then u will need to physically buy so many smart phones .....well considering the penchant which politicians have for FB likes samsung phones will see large increase in sales as elections approaches .also FB and google are likely to further tighten on creation of fake accounts used either for such activities or for chatting .....the government cyber cell also needs to start working over time on such isues as can be seen by the fact that even riots can be triggered by anti social elements by viral circulation of such fake photos /videos
